TMS is delivered by a considerable number of practices. Far fewer are led by a physician trained specifically in adolescent psychiatry, and that is what allows Collaborative Counseling TMS to treat adolescent patients ages 15 to 21 with the clinical oversight the treatment warrants.

Dr. Greenberger is not a consulting physician who reviews charts remotely. He is directly involved in patient care at each clinical decision point.
He conducts your evaluation. After the initial consultation with our Clinical Coordinator, patients meet with Dr. Greenberger for a 60 minute evaluation covering their mental health and psychiatric history. He uses that time to build a full clinical picture rather than a checklist.
He determines your treatment location. On the first treatment day, Dr. Greenberger works alongside a certified TMS Treater to identify the precise treatment site on each patient’s head. Anatomy differs between patients, so this is determined individually rather than applied from a template.
He determines your dose. The motor threshold, which sets the correct dose, is established for each patient specifically.
He oversees your treatment course. Treatment is delivered under his direct supervision.
Dr. Greenberger practices with a focus on treating the whole patient, which for younger patients means accounting for family, school, and community context rather than symptoms in isolation. He uses a strengths-based approach oriented toward overall health and wellness.
He is also Medical Director of Collaborative Counseling Center, a mental health practice providing psychiatric and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in Columbia. His work there spans psychiatric evaluations, ADHD evaluations, medication management, and GeneSight testing, alongside TMS.
That breadth is relevant to TMS patients. The physician evaluating whether TMS is right for you is the same physician who has spent two decades doing the diagnostic and medication work that precedes it, which means he understands what you have already been through and why it did or did not work.
